What I’m Loving

What I am loving-3

#1: Topshop is the ultimate cool girl site. I’ve been looking for a kimono like this for a while and I think this one is perfect.

#2: Topshop makes some quality but affordable denim. I have a pair and think they are so comfortable but chic too. This grey pair is a must have in every fashionista’s closet.

#3: I’m obsessed with flowy shift dresses like this one. I need this in my closet right away! Free People is a God send!

#4: How amazing is this printed Marc Jacobs tote?! The galaxy print is so fun and unique.

#5: Spring is approaching (a couple months away) but these booties are a must have I think. So cool with distressed boyfriend jeans and a loose knit.

Pinterest Pick of the Week

I am obsessed with this outfit. I actually just saw this Pin today but wore something similar on Tuesday. I can’t wait to take pictures of my outfit and compare! I think a little skater skirt and a tee with a quote is the perfect Winter combo. I love wearing my skirts with tights and booties. I love the addition of her scarf and that coat. A camel coat is still on my Shopping List. I wore my outfit like this with a chunky cardigan and a big statement necklace.

I Instagrammed this the other day and I still love it!

Something old, something new…

I have had this jacket/sweater for 6 years…yes 6. I bought it at a Nordstrom Rack in Palo Alto, California for around $25. The first time I wore it was in December (2014). I can’t believe it has just been sitting in my closet for so long, but now I love it! I think it is the perfect Winter layer because it can be worn as a jacket, or open as a sweater. Today, I am wearing it as a jacket.

I chose these half suede half leather leggings from Zara on the bottom. These are the perfect dressy leggings. I didn’t know they were capri length with the booties until I saw the pictures. (I was in a rush doing a big photoshoot.) I think the capri-ish length is kind of interesting/unique. I usually wear boots with this outfit but booties are a little more dressy.

I wear this bag all the time now. It’s my Something New! I think Rebecca Minkoff makes the most perfect bags/clothes/shoes/everything.

There are three steps to a simple, but chic outfit.

1) A cropped sweater- I bought this one at H&M for a grand total of $10…yeah I know right?! I rarely wear cropped pieces but when winter came I started buying a lot to wear with skirts and to put long tank tops underneath. This one is comfy, and simple too.

2) A midi skirt- I bought this from Nordstrom for only $15! I loved the simple pattern and thought this grey sweater was perfect with it.

3) Booties- I would prefer wedge booties but flat ones are just as cute and even more comfortable! These are from Target for under $30. Yes, this whole outfit was under $100. Such a steal!

I think this outfit could go many places. There are so many varieties and ways to play with it.

First off, sorry for the atrocious lighting. I had to crop the sunlight out of these pictures. I learned never to do inside pictures by a bright window again! Anyways, I really love this outfit. I wish I got it in better lighting but hopefully you can tell regardless.

This dress was $20 from Forever 21. This shirt is Burberry, so obviously the two prices are very different. However, I love the way the two look together. I wanted to wear this dress in the winter and thought adding a crisp, white button down did the trick. Throw on some black tights, sparkly heels, and a glam necklace and you have a chic and dressy outfit.

I am so honored to be co-hosting Confident Twosday with I do deClaire! Laura’s style is amazing and she always looks chic and professional! Thank you for letting me co-host!

This outfit was sort of a mismatch of pieces. I wanted to wear this plaid blanket scarf and thought this sweater matched perfectly. I decided to add some fun on the bottom so I wore these grey/silver velour leggings too. They are really fun and can be worn so many different ways!

A fashion tip: I like is to add a fun statement necklace with a scarf. It adds some glam and makes the outfit even better!

What I’m loving…

What I am loving 2

#1: I have been looking for the perfect winter coat that is chic and classic. I think J.Crew is the epitome of class and prep (besides Burberry) and that they hit the nail on the head with this coat. I wish I could buy this but it is too expensive. Next year for sure! DOUBLE-CLOTH LADY DAY COAT-J.CREW

#2: I have become such a fan of cute and flouncy skirts. Is flouncy a word? Anyways, I think this one is adorable, but can be paired with so many different tops. I would wear this with a cropped sweater, or a nice and crisp blouse tucked in. I would add tights and some wedge booties or fun heels. What about you? By the way, this is called the flounce skirt which I didn’t realize until just now. So yes, flouncy is a word, and this skirt is on sale. FLOUNCE SKIRT-J.CREW

#3: Is it just me or are you craving a cute striped dress too? I think it is Kourtney Kardashian that makes me want one. This Topshop one is simple, but chic. I am going to purchase this for Spring/Summer…thanks Kourtney! TOPSHOP STRIPE SWEATER DRESS- NORDSTROM

#4: I am a huge Rebecca Minkoff fan. I think her bags are all amazing. This one reminds me of a little Celine bag, but at a much better cost. The marble print is unexpected and so fun. REBECCA MINKOFF ‘AVERY’ CROSSBODY

#5: These wedge sandals are amazing. I am obsessed with anything strappy and these are on my Spring/Summer list! They would look amazing with distressed boyfriend jeans and a oversize knit for Spring or a cute romper or denim cutoffs for Summer. JEFFREY CAMPBELL ‘CORS’ SUEDE PEEP TOE BOOTIES

*You can always shop the links at the bottom of the post in an easy and organized way.*

I don’t know if it’s the major statement necklace, or oversize sweater, but I want this outfit in my closet pronto. Those ankle length black denim and the black booties are perfect too. I love the printed scarf and the huge tote.

WWBWD- I think I’ve been watching too much Gossip Girl lately, but this seems true. I have been through all the seasons three times and am on my 4th go around. Why not right?! Blair is my favorite character. I love her style, and her actions.

Happy Friday! I hope you’ve enjoyed the 2nd round of Posh Picks.

Faux fur and a Midi

IMG_6642 IMG_6643IMG_6650

So, this outfit looks a lot better in person. The pictures don’t really do it justice. I got this midi dress at H&M for $3! I didn’t know if I would ever wear it, but I thought why not. I think a faux fur vest looks good with anything so I added this on top with some moto boots. Of course I added a statement necklace too.

I’m going to style this dress different ways in the future to show how to dress up a simple basic.

P.S. Again, please ignore my handsome photographer in the background. We have learned better.

Jewels and Chanel

I have been dying to wear this cropped sweatshirt but I have trouble finding things it looks good with. I have tried numerous skirts and even track pants but I finally found the perfect skirt. This skirt is from Zara and only $15…amazing right?! I love the pretty floral pattern on the skirt that is subtle but meshes well with many different tops. I love the jewels on this sweatshirt. You don’t even have to wear a necklace, but of course I did anyways.

Last but not least is this beautiful Chanel bag. Wanna hear a secret? It’s fake…but who’s going to tell? Not me!

P.S.: Please ignore my handsome photographer in the background…he didn’t know he was visible!

Have a great week!

Posh Picks

Happy Friday!

I wanted to expand what I am posting a little bit so I have a new section called Posh Picks. I will talk about the things I’m loving right now, and suggest to you!

This week all of my picks are from the Savvy department at Nordstrom. If you have never heard of them, seriously check them out. All of these picks are relatively inexpensive.

1. This sweater I love because of the long back. I really want a long and light cardigan to wear with distressed denim, some booties and a tee. LOVE BY DESIGN OMBRE HIGH/LOW OPEN CARDIGAN

2. I am really loving the J.O.A. brand right now. They have some really great pieces at great prices. I want to wear it with some sparkly tights, bootie wedges and a moto jacket. J.O.A. SLEEVELESS STRIPE DRESS

3. I am in search of a jacket that isn’t puffy, or thin. This one is classic and I love the asymmetrical zipper which is a fun change of pace. GLAMOROUS ASYMMETRICAL ZIP COAT

4. I have been looking for a good cape and this is the perfect one! Well, the Burberry one is the perfect one, but this will do! I like the pretty colors and Topshop always has great quality. I got a couple Nordstrom gift cards for Christmas and this may or may not be going in my shopping cart tonight… TOPSHOP CHECK PRINT CAPE

5. We all need a good black purse and what’s not to love about faux fur? TOPSHOP FAUX FUR CARRYALL BAG

I am obsessed with this outfit! The distressed boyfriend jeans and leather jacket are enough to make me want to copy it. That oversize sweater looks super comfy as well! If I were to wear this I would wear booties instead, and maybe add a fun blanket scarf. What do you think?

This movie is a must see. It has been a favorite of mine forever. Before I saw the movie I was singing along to the soundtrack for weeks before. “The City’s Yours” and “Opportunity” are two new songs that I can’t stop listening to right now! My little sister and I have gone to see this twice, and plan on going at least once more.

If you are a fan of the “Confessions of a Shopaholic” series by Sophie Kinsella, then you will enjoy this book. If you have never read any of them, then I suggest you start immediately! All of us bloggers can relate to Becky in one way or another. I am a huge reader and couldn’t put this one down!

How delicious do these Deep Dish Oatmeal Fudge Bars sound? I found the recipe on Pinterest and I am dying to make them!
