mixing patterns

This is a great casual summer day outfit. I love mixing patterns like this because they are fun and don’t look odd together. The floral shorts are so pretty and were a sale item from J.Crew a couple of weeks ago. The tank top is an old Juicy Couture top that I bought four years ago in New York City but have just started wearing.

I haven’t conquered the rules for mixing patterns but I just like to make my own rules up sometimes. I don’t like stripes and polka dots together but florals and stripes are cute. I think this outfit is perfect because the navy in the shorts goes with the navy stripes and is a classy combo.

Fashion is about creating your own style, and wearing what you feel comfortable in. Sometimes things might not look that great, but it’s up to you to make those choices and do what you feel best. Wear what you want and what you feel comfortable in. Style is about mixing and matching and being creative.

What are other patterns you like to mix?

Sunday inspiration

“be silly, be honest, be kind” are simple words to remember throughout the week. Don’t be so serious all the time, always be honest to yourself and others and treat others with the kindness you deserve too.
Happy Sunday!

printed shorts, always a chic option

I love these shorts! I got them from a local boutique, but they are so soft and silky, and can be worn with many different tops. I picked a grey Alice and Olivia top from Saks, because the gray is subtle. A black top makes the pattern pop more, and white is a bright option too. The bag is Marc by Marc Jacobs and I wear it with everything. The leather is so soft and of course, black goes with everything. Printed shorts are always a great option for summer because they are light and loose and are casual, but can be dressed up or down. To dress them up, wear wedges and a black jacket, and a silver or gold necklace.

Printed shorts can be found many places, since summer is ending, take advantage of sales!

graphics are a must

These pants are fabulous! I am obsessed with them and they instantly make a great outfit no matter what top you wear. The pants are from Nordstrom and are sadly sold out, but many more like them exist. Track pants are a must have and I have four different pairs and wear them constantly. The print makes them pop, and the black makes the pattern stand out even more. I have also worn a white tank with them which works as well, but black adds a nice edge. Of course, gladiators and a necklace add the perfect finishing touch.

Track pants should be in everyone’s closet because they are comfortable, but so cute at the same time. I suggest buying a printed pair (I just bought another one from Nordstrom I will wear in a future post), and a solid pair. I have black and a grayish olive color. They can be found in any store too. Buy a pair before Summer ends! (Even though a darker color is great for Fall.)

~~Tip~~ I always like to tuck in the front part of my shirt in almost every outfit I wear. It adds something different and makes the shirt a little more fitted. Try it out and see what you think!

1)What is your favorite decade for fashion?- I would have to say the 1920s. The Great Gatsby had some of the most amazing costumes, and I just love that era of time.

2)What are the last three books you’ve read? Would you recommend them?- They are all from the author Liane Moriarty- “Little Big Lies”, “What Alice Forgot”, “Three Wishes”- and yes I loved them all! I have read all six of her books and they are really fast reads, but keep you interested the entire time.

3)If you could have grown up in a different country where would it have been?- Hmm, I’ve never left the country, but I think I would have loved to grow up in France.

4) Favorite magazine?- I love Glamour and InStyle

6)Who is the blogger that you most look up to?- I really like Peace Love Shea, because her pictures are so beautiful and her style is incredible.

7) What is your favorite clothing/shoe brand?- I love Nordstrom, Zara, Free People, J.Crew, and just little boutiques I find.

8)Your biggest dream when you were little?- To be famous, either a movie star or a singer. Now, my dream is to be in the fashion world whether it is in Public Relations or Event Planning. My big dream is to be on E! News.

9)What is your next step? (School, life, whatever)- I’m a sophomore in college so I just want to survive the year!

10) What is your biggest interest?- I really do like the fashion world.

11) Are you living in your dream city? If not what is it and why?- No, I am not living in my dream city. I don’t really like the Midwest and want to either live in California or New York someday.

1. Where does your blog name come from?- I have always liked the word “Posh” and it was once a nickname. I tried to think of another “P” word to go along and decided Prime was a good one.
2. What are you passionate outside of blogging? I am a student, so doing well in school is important to me. I also love hanging out with family, friends and my boyfriend, Bryce.
3. What do you do for a living? Or what are you studying? I am studying Journalism Public Relations at Indiana University.

last bits of white before fall

This is the perfect Summer outfit. The neutrals are so classy, and the bright necklace adds a great pop of color. I love white jeans and I try to wear them all the time in the summer. I have many different shirts I wear with them but this one is a favorite. It is from Free People and is so soft and comfortable, and I love the length to wear with pants. It comes in a couple other colors, but I love neutrals so I bought the black. White pants are everywhere! I bought these a couple years ago in the Dash New York store. I love the Kardashians so when I went to their store, I had to buy something and these are such a great staple made by Siwy Denim. The fashion rules always state, no white after Labor Day, but sometimes we all break the rules. I have a feeling I will be wearing these pants if the weather stays nice in the beginning of September.

a little Sunday inspiration

being kind, being positive, and being loving are all beautiful things and make you even more beautiful~~I may not always do this but this is a good reminder for the rest of the week

gold+black is always a classy combo

I love this outfit because it can be worn many places. The skirt is a little short for nice functions, but it is still cute and can be worn with many different things. The zippers add a different touch than normal on a skirt. The Wildfox tee is perfect because it is black and white and will match anything. I wear it everywhere, from over workout clothes to jeans and gladiators. The gold necklace adds a pop of edge and the eyes go straight to it, which is a good accessory. The gold wedges glam up the look even more, and fit perfectly with the gold necklace.

I would wear this outfit out to dinner or to a party. It shows you have class and style. I really am not a fan of crop tops so this is why this tee is a perfect alternative for the high-waisted skirt. It shows something different, and you will definitely stand out from all the rest.

What else would you wear with this?

Happy Friday!

casual boho meets subtle glam

This outfit I pieced together in about 3 seconds. I have never worn these items together and I think they go along pretty well. The lace cardigan is from a local boutique and can glam up any outfit, while the girly lace with the acid wash shorts create a nice contrast. The palm tree tee from Wildfox is a nice in-between. I really like this outfit and it would be good for a festival. It’s different than normal festival clothes, no high-waisted shorts or crop tops here! The gold wedges also add to the glamour aspect and are a nice neutral color. A cute floral headband could make it have a more boho vibe (I just don’t own any!)

I think this outfit could be good on a normal day, running errands, out to lunch, etc. I would pair it with cute sandals, in a gold or white color. My favorite item is the tee though. Wildfox has great tops, all so soft too. I own so many t-shirts and sweatshirts from there and I adore them all! It’s a nice little casual element to any outfit.

Camo isn’t just for boys

Camo is a trend that is on the rise. Initially, I didn’t think it was for me, but these pants from Zara caught my eye. Actually my mom pointed them out to me while we were in New York, but I tried them on and fell in love. I immediately began looking for tops to wear with them and decided that black, white and grey are the best choices. This black top adds edge with the unique texture and mesh additions. The gladiators add to this edge and make the outfit more dark. The necklace adds a girly and colorful touch. White can brighten these pants up, while grey is just a great neutral. Adding white lace could make the outfit girly, along with a necklace like the one I have on. I also wear these pants with a denim jacket to add a little class. Combat boots/moto boots and flats are great shoe choices as well.

Even if you don’t think camo is for you, keep looking around! This isn’t your average camo print which is why I like them. It is a little more subdued which I find unique.

~Girls can wear boy patterns too
