new york city

I spent the weekend in New York City, and did some serious shopping. Sadly, I didn’t take many pictures but saw so many things that I wanted to share with you!

the cutest pieces right now

I spent the day at the mall and feel inspired for finding some new pieces. I wasn’t all that pleased with the selection at the mall, but scoured the sites online (mainly Nordstrom) and found some pieces that I adore & you should too!

cozy leather & fringe

I love thigh high socks for many reasons. They allow you to wear dresses/skirts in the cold weather without having to wear tights, and look super cute. They are also super comfy, and add a nice vibe.IMG_0033 [Read more…]

Nordstrom is my life. Well, my closet actually. The Anniversary sale is one of my favorites and sadly, I want it all. I’ve already ordered the Nikes I have been wanting for months and I’m not sure what my next purchase will be. I think the Wildfox sweatshirt and the plaid sweater…or the mock neck dress…or the mesh workout leggings…or the patchwork denim.

My bank account says no, but my heart says yes. I will let you all know what I get. Are you having any luck? I see so many great sale posts and I want to know what everyone is buying! It is hard to get excited about Fall clothes in July. Does anyone else feel this way?

A dress & a vest

Free People makes some of my favorite dresses. There isn’t one I don’t like. This one I found on Brandzaffair. A site that tells you all of the great deals and sales at some of your favorite stores: Nordstrom, Free People, Bloomingdales, Revolve, Banana Republic, Saks Fifth Avenue and so many more.

I found this dress on their site and couldn’t pass it up. I like how flowy it is and the ruffles on the sleeves. I added a faux leather vest to edge it up and matched my sandals to the vest. These sandals are only $20 and really comfortable. It’s hard to find comfort at a cheap price, but these did it.

I’m off to California today and I can’t wait to share pictures with you all!

Let’s talk about the elephant in the post. My new Givenchy bag. Isn’t it beautiful, amazing, wonderful, breathtaking, etc? Yes. Now, let me tell you how I got it. We’ve all seen the Sex & the City movie, don’t deny it. Carrie’s assistant constantly rented from Bag Borrow or Steal. They let you rent handbags for a month! You can pick from Chanel beauties, Louis Vuitton classics, or this amazing Celine one. Need I say more? NO!

I picked this Givenchy bag because it is a neutral, simple, and I love the style. It matches everything and I have been using it on repeat. (The envious stares are the best part.) I decided to pair it with a simple outfit. These new Topshop jeans are divine and I bought this  Free People split back sweater at a great price. The black espadrilles are only $20…yep. These I have been seeing all over Instagram but they are basically sold out online. I went to a local store and they had a ton of pairs! It was fate I think.

So, I hope this gives you some inspiration to go to Bag, Borrow or Steal. Go find your dream bag and make it yours at a normal budget cost!

It’s that time…the Nordstrom sale. I am obsessed with Nordstrom as you probably know. It’s an addiction, so help me God. Anyways, I know you have seen these collages everywhere and all are fun. I have tried to make mine as unique and different than others so I hope you like it! You can easily shop the links from the side as well using Shopstyle.

The gold Topshop sandals I wear all the time are only $30…I get so many compliments on them. You should consider getting a pair. (Sizes are in half sizes so size up.) I love these workout pants too. Zella pants fit well and are good quality for a great price! This long trench is not in season, but a perfect price for the Fall! I need these floral wedges in my closet ASAP. This color block Free People button down is unique and would look good paired with anything in the Summer. I missed this Kate Spade bikini in my swimwear post, but this is too cute to pass up.

Alright, alright I’m done. I can’t get enough of this sale though! Happy shopping!

My Summer style trick

When I saw this dress in H&M I snatched it up immediately. I then realized it was a coverup, but I knew I had to change that. Today, I am showing you how to wear a coverup as an actual dress. The easiest way: wear a light slip underneath, add some jewelry and nice shoes. BAM, you’re done. This dress is super comfortable and looks just as great over a hot little swimsuit.

I chose to pair this with tall gladiator sandals and some gold gladiator wedges for a more dressy option. How many pairs of gladiator sandals do I have… you ask? Too many to count. Whoops. Also, if you can’t tell, I love my new hair. Clearly, I am touching it in every picture. (I didn’t notice until later.) I adore my new ombre lob and I will eventually be doing a post on how to style it.

Have a great day!

One lace crop top, two ways

I’m not usually a crop top kinda girl, but when I saw this one in Pitaya I knew it was perfect! I decided to style it two different ways: sporty and girly.

The first look is the white lace crop top with a blush wrap maxi skirt. I paired it with my favorite Free People halter bra and some tall gladiators. I’m not gonna lie…I would probably wear some gold wedges with this skirt but I lost mine for the time being and decided to make the look a little more edgy with the sandals. Any type of sandal would work too. You could do some cute flip flops, any wedge, or even Converse would be fun as well!

The second look is the top with stretchy black shorts. These are beyond comfortable and can go with so many things in the Summer! I paired this look with my Converse and a monogram baseball cap. This outfit can go anywhere!

P.S. Thank you for all of the birthday wishes! I had an amazing weekend in Indianapolis with my family and closest friends. Shopping, eating and hanging with the people you love most is the best way to spend your birthday!

Lace and leather

This red lace dress is so feminine and sweet. I originally modeled it in a fashion show and fell in love with it. Free People really knows how to make a dress. Anyways, I have probably worn this dress once. Yes, once. The problem is that it is “too fancy” in my mind and I don’t really dress up in a fancy way. I’m more about taking nice pieces and making them look casual but still chic.

I decided to add a leather jacket to toughen the dress up and make it casual. Instead of wedges, you could do some nude sandals or even some Converse for an even more causal look. The possibilities are endless! I’m glad I figured out that this dress is so versatile!
