May: Want, Need, Must have

May

May is finally here, which means summer (for me) is just days away. I put together a list of things I really want, kind of need and are must haves for these upcoming summer months.

1. I saw this shirt on Song of Style’s blog   and I immediately added it to my Nordstrom wish list. This could be styled so many different ways and looks so tailored and clean. I would definitely wear this with distressed denim, white denim, denim cutoffs, or over a dress. Everyone needs a crisp button-down.

2. Everyone needs a jumpsuit in their closet.  You can never go wrong with this fun Topshop printed one! Since the print says it all, this would look great with some simple sandals.

3. I fell in love with this skirt a couple of weeks ago, but I have yet to purchase it. I’m waiting for it to go on sale. I can’t wait to wear this in the summer to the Simply Stylist conference in Chicago. Is anyone going?!

4. White dresses are such an amazing and simple staple. I love pairing them with fun and colorful accessories. I am loving this breezy fabric and boho style. This would look amazing with some gold accessories or even a pair of gladiators. It would also look good on the beach, just like this Pinterest find.

5. Forever 21 is killing it this year. This dress is fun, and simple. I would love to pair this with some gladiators and a leather jacket.

6. These pants are a staple on most blogs. I can never get enough of any pair of white denim but the distressed knees add an edgy touch.

7. This maxi is so pretty and flowy. It’s also under $25, but looks like it is $250. Who can say no?!

8. Crochet is one of my favorite summer trends. I really like how simple this skirt is. I would style this with a pretty crop top or a fun graphic tee.

9. I found this article and am obsessed with Olivia Palermo’s style. She has such class and shows it in some fun outfits. I adore her tailored pieces and prints. She always looks flawless. I thought these shorts would be similar to something she would wear. These would look nice with a chambray top or light summer blouse.

What are you loving? What are some of your favorite summer trends?

P.S. You can shop all of these links on the side panel of the page through Shopsense Shopstyle!

Have a great weekend!

This shirt couldn’t be more true. When I was in Nordstrom I saw this and immediately snatched it up. Plus, it’s only $28…go buy it. Now.

I love styling this a couple different ways. I stuck with the basics: top, boyfriend denim, gladiator sandals, and I added some extras. I love this pink jacket from Forever 21. I found this on sale for $6…so I bought it. I also toughened it up with my leather jacket, because this jacket goes with anything and everything. Also, this jacket is now on sale! Last, I paired it with my favorite floppy hat.

This tee is so much fun and describes me perfectly. Go buy it before it’s gone!

I hope you liked the last two top options, but here are some new ones! This just shows how versatile this skirt (or any midi) can be!

I love this tee that I designed! It can be worn so many different ways. You can knot it or tuck it into any skirt really. It’s on a special sale right now for $16.99 so I hope you go buy it! 10% of the proceeds go to Emma Rose: A Patient Helping Patients.

The last top is a graphic tank from Urban. I like the graphic design with the stripes for a interesting and edgy mix. This tank top is also super comfortable and I wear it all the time in warmer weather! I love how this can be knotted so it doesn’t cover the skirt. It makes the legs look even longer! (Try it!)

I have worn this midi skirt previously in the Winter, but decided to style it for Spring. I was looking through my closet for a shirt to wear with this and found four possible options. I decided to just wear them all! I will show two looks today and two on Wednesday.

The first look is a boxy cropped grey sweater from Loft. I got this for $10 on sale! I layered a long necklace with it as well.

The second look is actually a workout top. I don’t workout in this shirt because it is so cropped but it looks good with the skirt, both tucked and untucked.

P.S. These shoes were not supposed to be in the pictures…I brought the wrong shoes to my photoshoot (whoops). I would recommend some wedges, wedge booties, or some casual Converse with this skirt.

Blush, grey & white is my favorite Spring combination. I love the pretty tones together and pink just makes any outfit look good. This sweater I found on Asos for $12 so I bought it and can’t stop wearing it. It looks good with any outfit…I love wearing it with distressed denim and a graphic tee. I found this top on sale at Nordstrom and love the high-low aspect. Playing with hems and symmetry is a really fun way to transform any outfit. I added my favorite white jeans from Dash and my floppy hat of course.

Have a great weekend!

Yeah, I’m not at Coachella. I lied. I’m in Bloomington, Indiana…yay. However I was constantly looking at Coachella outfits so I decided to put together my own. I bought this dress this weekend when I needed some major retail therapy. MAJOR. (If someone breaks your heart, you go shopping.)

Anyways, I found this at Forever 21…yes Forever 21. I immediately thought this is a Free People knock-off so I snatched it up and didn’t look back. I bought these sandals last week at an amazing price from Just Fab….$10. Yep. I added some dainty necklaces and my favorite new floppy hat. Of course I wore my leather jacket as well, because I’m obsessed. I’m also wearing the Free People halter lace bralette. I love how the halter pops out from under clothes for a pretty and girly vibe.

So, all you ladies not at Coachella, go put on your best outfit and act like you are there!

The 3 C’s- Comfortable, casual, cute

IMG_1191IMG_1193IMG_1197IMG_1195IMG_1200

Sorry for the lack of pictures. I’ve had these on my phone for a while and haven’t been able to have a real photoshoot lately. I took these when I was in Omaha a couple weeks ago because I was “feeling my outfit”. We’ve all been there…

Anyways, this outfit is insanely comfortable. These pants come in a couple different colors at Gap and are on major sale right now. Go get them! I was going to wear a shorter and not so baggy top but I was in a comfort mood. This sweatshirt I might wear at least once a week. I love the graphics and the color, plus the material is super soft. I love a good oversized piece. Plus, it is on sale. I threw on my favorite leather jacket and added some black booties. If you want to make this even more casual, I suggest a cute baseball cap and some Converse. Gladiator sandals would be good too!

This red lace dress is so feminine and sweet. I originally modeled it in a fashion show and fell in love with it. Free People really knows how to make a dress. Anyways, I have probably worn this dress once. Yes, once. The problem is that it is “too fancy” in my mind and I don’t really dress up in a fancy way. I’m more about taking nice pieces and making them look casual but still chic.

I decided to add a leather jacket to toughen the dress up and make it casual. Instead of wedges, you could do some nude sandals or even some Converse for an even more causal look. The possibilities are endless! I’m glad I figured out that this dress is so versatile!
